Consultant: client disputes billed hours

When a client questions the number of hours on your invoice.

“The longer and softer you make it the more it reads like you think you're being unreasonable for wanting to get paid.” This one is short and direct, with no “sorry to bother you”.

Hour disputes are best handled with a timesheet, not an argument. Pay the undisputed portion first.
