Overdue invoice to a German client: Mahnung wording, default after 30 days, interest of base rate + 9 points and the €40 flat fee for B2B.
Under German law a debtor is generally in default (Verzug) 30 days after receiving an invoice, or earlier after a reminder (Mahnung). For B2B debts, default interest is 9 percentage points above the base rate (Basiszinssatz) plus a €40 flat fee (§288 BGB); for consumers it's 5 points above base rate. If unpaid, the court dunning procedure (gerichtliches Mahnverfahren) is a cheap online route.
